Bartlesville man wins $1 million in Million Dollar Elm casino drawing

A Bartlesville, Okla. Man is the winner of $1 million following a drawing held at the Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino in Tulsa on Aug. 16.

John G. Prokopuk won the grand prize and will receive $83,333 per month over the next year, according to a news release from the casino.

The drawing was held with 350 finalists and their guests at the casino’s Event Center. Principal Chief Jim Gray randomly drew the wining envelope with Prokopuk’s name from a hopper.

Guests qualified for a chance to win the $1 million prize since May 1 at the MDE casino’s seven locations.

Four other people were selected for a four-day trip to the Bahamas to play poker in the Sports Legends Challenge. Those winners are: Rick Schaan of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Ramubhai Patel of Bixby Okla.; Cecil Carpenter of Oklahoma; and Mary Ann Palmer of Coffeyville, Kans.

The four winners will play poker with 25 sports legends for a chance at winning a share of $10 million.
