Matthew Shunkamolah, Osage, has been hired as the permanent Director of the Osage Nation Gaming Commission.

The Gaming Commission’s decision was effective on June 1 after the position was advertised and interviews conducted. Shunkamolah was first hired as the Nation’s Gaming Commissioner and was later named the interim Director after the three-member commission was formed by tribal law.

The Commission Director directs the daily administrative functions of the Gaming Commission and has supervisory authority over all Gaming Commission staff members. 

Doug Revard is serving as the Chairman of the Gaming Commission and Fred Beartrack is vice-chairman. Principal Chief John Red Eagle is expected to appoint a third commissioner soon.
