Reading program to be hosted at Pawhuska Public Library

BARK (Books Are really Keen) is coming to the Pawhuska Library Aug. 8 for a back to school read-along.

This is the second year for the program, which was hosted last year at the Wah Zha Zhi Cultural Center.

The event, which begins at 1:30 p.m., is aimed at promoting reading in the early years and is hosted by 12-year-old Kendall Chapman-Ryan of San Antonio, TX. The program is for beginning readers and “want to be” readers, who enjoy good stories and colorful pictures.

Every child who attends will be able to choose several free books and have some fun with music, singing and games. There will also be readings of appropriate books by Kendall and her dad, Jim Ryan. Cookies and juice will be served. All the young readers in Osage County are invited to attend. For more information contact Jim Ryan at (210) 804-0687
