Osages affected by Moore tornado please call Osage Nation for help

A message from the Osage Nation Chief's Office:

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by the recent tornadoes.

The Osage Nation Emergency Management Department is gathering information about Osage members affected in order to plan a relief effort, which will focus on the most urgent needs of these members.

Osage members in need of assistance are encouraged to contact Emergency Management Director Bobby Tallchief, who is coordinating these efforts, at (918) 287-5225 or (918) 636-4578.

To donate to the Salvation Army and the Red Cross text Red Cross at 90999 to donate $10; or to Storm at 80888 to donate $10. According to Osage Nation Emergency Management director Bobby Tallchief, relief efforts in the Moore area don’t need any more manpower resources. As the rescue operations carry forward help will be needed. Tallchief said ON Emergency Management and the Osage Nation Police Department is on the state’s Emergency Management resource list.

Donations are being gathered for transportation to the victims of the Moore tornado. Items urgently needed include the following:

· Bottled Water
· Gatorade
· Cleaning wipes
· Diapers
· Baby formula
· Hand towels
· Individually-wrapped snacks
· Work gloves
· Toiletries
· Batteries
· Sunscreen
· Hand Sanitizer

These are the only items being accepted at this time. These items may be dropped off at the ON Emergency Management Department in Pawhuska at 1968 Old Highway 99.

Additionally, if you would like to make a monetary donation, a fund is being setup for that purpose this week. Once the fund has been established, the information will be provided on the Osage Nation Web site at www.osagetribe.com.
