Tzi-Zho Session Day 8

Day Eight of the Tzi-Zho Session starts at 10 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 10 and the Fourth Osage Nation Congress will consider five bills for amendments at that time including:

- ONCA 14-60: An Act to establish penalties for violation of the Nation’s Office of Fiscal and Performance Review law. (sponsored by Congressman William “Kugee” Supernaw)

- ONCA 14-61: An Act to amend Osage law to include penalties for violation of the law which states that no money shall be drawn from the ON Treasury except by appropriation in accordance with tribal law and the Constitution. (Supernaw)

- ONCA 14-64: An Act to provide an appropriation to the Office of the Principal Chief of the Osage Nation for fiscal year 2015 in the amount of $1.9 million. (Congressman John Jech)

- ONCA 14-65: An Act to provide an appropriation to the Legislative Branch of the Osage Nation for fiscal year 2015 in the amount of $2.4 million. (Jech)

- ONCA 14-66, An Act to provide an appropriation to the Judicial Branch of the Osage Nation for fiscal year 2015 in the amount of $601,226. (Jech)

The Congress will also receive two recently filed bills for first reading and they will be subject to Congressional committee action. Those bills are:

ONCA 14-85 is a bill that changes the definition of “capital funding.” (Congressman RJ Walker)

ONCA 14-86 is a bill to authorize and appropriate $4 million to the health benefit card program fund out of the Nation’s permanent fund. The bill also seeks to direct all unencumbered tribal funds that carryover from FY 2014 to be placed in the permanent fund. (Congresswoman Shannon Edwards)
