The Nation will accept bids for construction on the Fairfax Child Care and Senior Center in March.
Nearly two years have passed since the planning for the facilities began. According to a prepared release, Nation officials hope to begin construction this spring. The Nation’s Tribal Development and Land Acquisition office is working on the project.
ONCA 15-05, sponsored by Congressman Archie Mason, earmarked $3.3 million for the Fairfax Child Care and Senior Center facility. However, it was reduced by $300,000 after ALLS Grocery Inc. bought the old Palace of the Osage grocery store in Fairfax. The $300,000 will go toward making improvements to the store, which has been renamed to Venture Foods.
