Matthew Harding Jones Obituary

Matthew Harding Jones was called home to the Lord at 10:08 p.m. on March 11, 2015, with his mother, siblings, nephew, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins by his side.

Matthew was born to Mary Margaret West on May 22, 1998 in Oklahoma City, Okla. He resided in El Reno, Okla. all his life. Matthew attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and El Reno Public Schools until this year, where he was a junior at El Reno High School.

Matthew is an enrolled member of the Osage Nation and he is of Cheyenne and Kiowa descent. He is of the Sky Clan of the Osage Nation and his Osage name is Ka-La-Moi, meaning the Calm After the Storm. He was inducted into the Zon-Zo-Li  In-lon-schka at the age of 12 and enjoyed dancing. He is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Native American Church.

Matthew enjoyed playing video games and watching funny videos and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his baby sister, Angela Rose Marie West.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Margaret West, younger brother Julian West, older sister Mary Brie Proctor and nephew Aidan Proctor of the home. Grandparents, Harvey and Mary (Barnes) Monetathchi of Clinton, Okla. and Howard West of Austin, TX., Uncles, Joshua Monetathchi and sons Zackery and Kaden Monetathchi and Eli Monetathchi of El Reno, Okla. and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pall Bearers are Wilson Hight, Drew Hight, M.L. Clark III, Gabriel Pelayo, Zackery Monetathchi and Jesse Pelayo. Honorary Pall Bearers are William F. Hight Jr. and Michael E. Pratt, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 under the direction of Huber Benson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at El Reno Cemetery.
