The Osage Nation Counseling Center will hold a candlelight vigil on April 9 for all victims of sexual assault.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the candlelight vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Gazebo located at 700 Lynn Avenue, north of the Osage County Historical Society Museum in Pawhuska.
Speakers will include Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear, Dawn Stover (Cherokee), executive director of Native Alliance Against Violence. NAAV is Oklahoma’s only tribal domestic and sexual violence coalition.
