BIA Director to discuss issues involving Mineral Estate Sept. 9

Bureau of Indian Affairs Director, Mike Black, will give a presentation to Osage citizens about the current condition of the Osage Minerals Estate.

The presentation is public and will take place at 11 a.m. on Sept. 9 at the Pawhuska Business Development Center in Pawhuska. The presentation will be live streamed and can be viewed on the Osage Nation’s website at www.osagenation-nsn.gov/multimedia/live-media.  

According to a prepared release, Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear invited Black for the presentation following a federal court decision to temporarily halt new oil and gas rules and to address concerns over declining oil and gas production.

Black will not discuss matters that are currently in litigation, according to the release. 

The Pawhuska Business Development Center is located at 1225 Virginia Short Street in Pawhuska. The presentation will be held in in Bay B.
