Osage Congress to meet for special session Day Seven

The Fourth Osage Nation Congress will meet for Day Seven of its 10th Special Session starting at 10 a.m. Jan. 27.

According to the agenda, the Congress will consider a motion to amend the special session proclamation for consideration of an additional resolution, which was filed Jan. 26 by Congressman James Norris.

The resolution (ONCR 16-11) is to authorize a limited waiver of sovereign immunity from suit and consent to jurisdiction as part of a pharmaceutical services agreement with PBA Health. According to the resolution, the Nation will receive pharmaceutical distribution services from PBA Health pending an approved contract with the Kansas City company.

If the limited sovereign immunity waiver is granted, the PBA Health contract will state the Nation will consent to the state and federal courts of Jackson County, Mo. and will consent to Missouri state law in the interpretation of the contract.
