Barbecue fundraisers planned for Osage Ballet performance in Missouri

Two fundraising barbecues in support of the Osage Ballet are planned this month at the Osage Casinos in Bartlesville and Tulsa.

The Osage Ballet and Osage Casino are hosting the two-day barbecue events at the casinos to raise money for a Sept. 8 performance of Wahzhazhe: An Osage Ballet in Rolla, Mo.

The fundraiser features barbecue plates for $8 and includes meat, beans, coleslaw and a drink. The times and dates for the ballet barbecue fundraisers are:

- July 14-15 at the Tulsa Osage Casino, 951 W. 36th Street in the Nine18 Bar. Food will be available for sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- July 21-22 at the Bartlesville Osage Casino in the Nine18 Bar from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Food orders can be placed 24 hours in advance by calling (877) 246-8777 by 8 p.m.

Since 2012, the Osage Ballet has performed Wahzhazhe: An Osage Ballet at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of the American Indian, the International Festival of Families in Philadelphia during the Pope’s visit to the U.S., the Coleman Theater in Miami, Okla., and the Lensic Theater in Santa Fe.

The Osage Ballet’s next performance will be at Rolla’s Leach Theatre on Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m. The Leach Theatre is located at 400 W. 10th St 103 Castleman Hall. For tickets, contact the box office at (573) 341-4219 or leach@mst.edu.
