The 2020 Census work is readjusted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the deadline for responses is now extended to Oct. 31.
According to a news release, the Census Bureau temporarily suspended 2020 Census field data collection activities in March and steps are being taken to reactivate nationwide field offices June 1 to resume data collection and door field operations.
The Census website also notes self-responses to the surveys will now have a revised Oct. 31 deadline where citizens can respond by phone, online or mailed-in paper surveys.
In an April social media post announcing the extended census deadline, the Osage Nation wrote: “The Census is very important for Osage members as it not only provides an opportunity to show how our Nation has grown, but also to focus attention on what our needs are. Be sure to complete question #9 regarding Tribal Affiliation to ensure you are counted as a member of the Osage Nation.”
