Amanda Mae Dale passed from this life on April 23, 2023, in a car accident heading toward Prue, Okla.

Amanda Mae Dale was born on December 15, 1990, in Fort Collins, Colorado to Kevin Dale and Barbara (Yates) Thornburg. When Amanda was 3 years old, the family moved back to the Pawhuska area. As she grew up, she enjoyed working in the kitchen with her mother. She graduated from Pawhuska High School in 2009 where she played the clarinet in the band. While in school she worked at Pizza Hut.

Amanda was incredibly funny, very quick-witted and made everyone laugh. She was always encouraging everywhere she went. People would come to her work because she was so delightful to be with. She enjoyed her customers. Amanda was a storyteller. She loved to make elaborate posts on Facebook telling stories. She loved going to music festivals. Being in the country was a passion of hers, camping or hiking; but enjoying the outdoors.

Amanda worked hard to care for her son, Billy. She was best friends with her sister, Chelsea. She was all about being with family and friends. Amanda loved the Osage People, being involved in any way she could. Going to tribal dances and helping cook for events. She was a beautiful soul and told everyone how much she cared about them.

Amanda was survived by her son Billy Toon, her mother Barbara and stepfather Stephen Joe Thornburg; father, Kevin Dale; sister, Chelsea (Steven) Taylor; brother, Stephen Thornburg; aunts, Marian (Everett) Waller and Debra Yates; uncle, Paul Yates, and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her sister, Nora Thornburg; grandmother, Eva Mae Coshehe; grandfather, Paul Edmond Yates Sr.; uncle, Andrew Yates.

Amanda’s service will be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Coshehe Family Farm, 123 County Road 2511, Pawhuska, OK 74002. Burial will be at the Nelagoney Cemetery. Arrangements are provided by Powell Funeral Service in Hominy, Okla.
