By Anthony Shackelford
My name is Anthony Shackelford, I’m the son of Ruth and Romaine Shackelford. I have four brothers, Roman, Martin, Harrison and Mike, and two sisters, Georgianna Ricketts and Mary Martha Parker. Yet, the most amazing and blessed part of my life was when I became a dad. My beautiful wife Amy and I are very blessed with three amazing children, Dominic, Evalyn and Scarlett. As a proud Osage man and shareholder, my desire to enter the race and announce my candidacy for the Osage Minerals Council was a decision not taken lightly.
I entered the race in large part due to the enormous and heavy price our ancestors paid to protect the Minerals Estate. Pledging nothing less than total commitment, a serious mindset, a willingness to respect and listen to others while never losing sight of who I work for, the shareholders.
The first priority if elected would be to protect the Osage Minerals Estate. Second, sustain where the Osage Minerals Estate currently stands, always forging ahead making progress each step of the way. Third, increase the value of the Osage Minerals Estate by maximizing the return of each facet of the Osage Mineral Estate. Four, identifying all avenues in how best increase those returns. Five, foster and sustain a positive and respectful working environment with fellow council members, shareholders and staff. Six, identify and strive to bridge any gaps or barriers that exist with any entities that negatively affect the Osage Minerals Estate.
I firmly believe my work experience in the oil and gas industry, my leadership experience directing multiple programs for the Osage Nation, elected to a six-year term on the Osage Nation Congress, ten years of community-based research practices involving multiple communities across the Osage Reservation, writing and administering multiple grants, and my education. All these experiences together afford me a significant and meaningful foundation from which I can best serve the Osage Minerals Estate and its Shareholders.
I appreciate your support and respectfully ask for your vote.
