Dan T. LeStourgeon Obituary

Dan is survived by his wife Janice of 44 years; his four sons Dan T. Jr., Bill, Tim, and Bob LeStourgeon; niece Pamela Mathews and great-niece Nicole Fanning; along with many other loving family and friends.

Dan T. LeStourgeon passed from this life on June 19, 2022, at the age of 83 at his home in Kidder, Mo.

Dan was born on November 8, 1938, in Arkansas City, Kans., the son of Arthur Heard LeStourgeon and Vivian Leona (Moncravie) LeStourgeon. Dan was raised in Arkansas City, Kans. where he later attended Arkansas City College at the age of 15. After graduating college, Dan enlisted in the army in 1961 serving as a valued Cryptographic Specialist in Korea until 1967.

After his service Dan was well recognized by the companies he worked for including Safeway as a store manager, Radio Shack as a Loss Prevention Specialist, and dedicated over 20 years to Orchard Supply Hardware as Human Resources and Personnel Manager before retiring in 2004 in California.

Dan enjoyed hiking, kayaking and traveling, though his favorite place to visit was Hawaii. In his spare time, you could find Dan drinking a Diet Pepsi while watching sci-fi and the History Channel or getting lost in a “Coast to Coast” radio show.

But more than anything Dan loved his wife, Janice, and the home they created. It brought him great happiness watching the wildlife thrive while tending to the land and the animals on their farm.

Dan is survived by his wife Janice of 44 years; his four sons Dan T. Jr., Bill, Tim, and Bob LeStourgeon; niece Pamela Mathews and great-niece Nicole Fanning; along with many other loving family and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Heard LeStourgeon and Vivian Leona (Moncravie) LeStourgeon, along with brothers, Art and Bill LeStourgeon.

Dan was a proud member of the Osage Nation. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and open mind.
