Election Day is almost here and the staff of the election office is preparing for two days of Early Voting in their office, beginning Friday, June 1. The election office is located at 608 Kihekah in downtown Pawhuska.
General Election in-person voting hours
– Friday, June 1, ON Election Office: Noon to 7 p.m.
– Saturday, June 2, ON Election Office: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
– Monday, Election Day June 4, polling place will be the ON Museum: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Minerals Council Election in-person voting hours
– Monday, Election Day June 4, polling place will be the Minerals Council Chambers: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Absentee ballots
As of May 29, the Election Office is reporting to have received 1,091 voted absentee ballots at the Pawhuska Post Office, out of 2,390 absentee ballots mailed. Voters must ensure their ballots are filled out and mailed back to the Pawhuska Post Office by the June 4 election day to be counted.
The mailed-in absentee ballots are collected and kept in a locked box at the Pawhuska Post Office until 10 a.m. of election day. At that time, election staff will retrieve the ballots – with an ON police escort – and the ballots from June 1-2 early voting days will also be retrieved from the Election Office vault during that same timeframe.
