Congress to consider final action on FY 2016 budgets

With two days left in the 2015 fiscal year, the Fourth Osage Nation Congress is still considering final actions for approving the 2016 governmental budgets.

The budgets will be considered for final amendments before ultimately being passed, but those budgets will then be subject to review and consideration of action by Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear.

Following votes on amendments, the Congress could vote on the remaining FY 2016 budgets as early as today (Sept. 29) during Day 19 of the Tzi-Zho Session.

Thus far, the Congress has passed its own Legislative Branch budget set at $2.3 million. The Congressional budget became law Sept. 17 and will take effect when the new fiscal year starts Oct. 1.
