Frances Marie Goad passed from this life on May 18, 2025, at the age of 88 years old. She was born on Sept. 11, 1936, in the Ponca City Hospital to parents Mary Madeline (Webster) and Charles Anthony Martin Goad. Her grandparents included Nicholas and Frances (Wilson) Webster, maternal, and Charles L. Goad and Clara O’Farell Goad, paternal.
She will be at the Grayhorse Chapel beginning Tuesday, May 20, friends are welcome to visit the family there until early morning Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 22 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfax with Father Lewis Obirieze as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at Fairfax City Cemetery in Block P. Pallbearers will be Christian Williams, Nicholas Williams, Sonny Boy Williams, Curtis Williams, Kyle Vaughn, and Trenton Vaughn. Honorary pallbearer is Theodore Mashburn.
Frances, nicknamed “HeHe,” graduated from Fairfax High School and proceeded to graduate from Draughon’s School of Business, Northern Oklahoma College, and Central State University (now known as the University of Central Oklahoma). She then worked for the WIC Program, after which she became a social worker for the U.S. Government Indian Health Service, retiring after 25 years of service.
A proud member of the Osage Nation, she belonged to the Grayhorse District. She was a devout member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfax.
Frances’s legacy includes her only child, Scott Brooks Goad; grandchildren, Meleaia Rae Scott, Kyle Dean Vaughn, Skye Marie Goad and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Mark Goad and wife Frankie; Vicki Doreen Mashburn; Lester Earl Williams, Jr. and wife Tess; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her parents, Charles Goad Sr. and Mary Williams; brothers, Charles Anthony Goad, Jr. and John Webster Williams, Jr.; sister, Dolores Ann Barnett; and nephew, Victor Mashburn, all preceded Frances in death.
