It would be the honor of my life to serve the Osage People; I humbly ask you to VOTE for JACQUE JONES on June 3rd for Osage Nation Congress. I believe I can affect real change on issues you care about. When elected I understand it comes with great responsibility and I accept the challenge.
My focus:
ECONOMIC SOVEREIGNTY
I have seen up close what successful and diverse economic development can do specifically for tribes and Native American entrepreneurs. I have firsthand experience in starting, building, and expanding diverse tribal economic enterprises that are successful. The Osage Nation needs stronger procurement laws and policies that will benefit Osage owned business and entrepreneurs. When our businesses and entrepreneurs succeed so does the Osage Nation. We cannot make money and excuses; I bring relationships and the ability to capitalize on resources that will benefit the Osage Nation
COMMUNICATION
I am committed to actively engaging with Osage Congressional members, Osage Nation Executive Branch, Osage Nation Boards, Osage Nation Commissions and most importantly the Osage constituents on topics that strengthen Osage Nations Sovereignty. In the course of healthy conversation and debate we can prioritize our goals and spending; we can and should debate different approaches to solve problems. To simply deny the fact economic development has not been a priority not only betrays future generations, but it also betrays the essential spirit of innovation and practical problem solving. Politics is a battle of ideas, which is how the Osage government was designed. I have an open-door policy and believe it imperative to keep lines of communication and my mind open to ideas that benefit the Osage People and protect our sovereignty. I understand the Osage Nation needs a budget that supports our ever growing and diverse needs including our ability to challenge in court the Osage Nations sovereign right to govern and protect our assets. When elected I intend to defend, protect and strengthen Osage Sovereignty by standing firm on jurisdiction; there have been efforts recently made to diminish Osage Sovereignty, we need the ability to act when our sovereignty is challenged and there is a significant cost to stay in the fight. Complacency is not an option.
It is my priority to support Osage culture preservation, health services/benefits, education services/benefits, protection of environmental resources, protection of assets and an economic infrastructure that supports it. I am committed to prioritizing spending and goals that align with the Osage Nation strategic plan. I am creative and very experienced in providing solutions that have contributed to creating sustainable resources that benefit all Osages. I lead by example to offer workable solutions and have demonstrated a devotion of service to the Osage People keeping constituent needs at the forefront. I know I cannot do and fix everything but I can and will contribute to a collaborative framework so WE can achieve more.
