A parishioner of Holy Name for more than 56 years, Janice Kay (Moore) Purcell, age 85, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 14. A native Denverite born on April 18, 1938, Janice received her Sacraments of Initiation at St. James Catholic Parish in northeast Denver. She was the mother of four sons: Chris, Douglass, Keith and Gregg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Name. In her early years, Janice sang in the choir and was a 2nd grade religious education teacher. In later years, she took part in the Catholic Biblical School and a Holy Name Bible Study group.
Her funeral Mass was July 26; a rosary vigil service was July 25, in the Church. Her cremains will be interred at Crown Hill cemetery. There was a reception at the Saint Agnes Center following the funeral Mass.
