Linda Galipeau, age 75 of Hominy, Okla., went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, in Bartlesville, Okla.

Linda Galipeau, age 75 of Hominy, Okla., went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, in Bartlesville, Okla.

Linda was born Sept. 26, 1948, in Tulsa, Okla., to James R. “Dude” and Berniece (Thayer) Perrier. She grew up and received her education in Skiatook, Okla., and graduated from Skiatook High School in 1966. On Sept. 16, 1982, Linda married Charles “Chuck” Albert Galipeau and they made their home in Hominy. Over the years she worked as a bookkeeper for Monroe Construction Company, she was a secretary for Osage County Interlocal Co-op, and was a secretary and assistant for the superintendent of Skiatook Schools. Linda was very creative at making wreaths for all occasions and decorating the house. She collected patterned glass. Most of all she loved tending to her family and her home.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents: James and Berniece, and sister, Vera “Punkin” (Yarbrough) Patterson.

Linda is survived by her husband, Chuck; children, Michelle DeMiere, Denise Latanzo, Lisa Gallaway, Michael Douglas Terry, Charles Joseph Galipeau; sister, Melvina Prather and husband Gayle; brother, Jim “Lynn” Perrier; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life was held on Oct. 28, 2023, at the residence of Gayle and Melvina Prather. Pallbearers were Brenth Prather, Butch Kennedy, Brian Hough, Joe Perrier, Pete Perrier and Bumper Perrier. Final Resting Place was in the Perrier Family Cemetery in Hominy.

The family of Linda Galipeau entrusted her care and services to Sien-Shelton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Linda’s memory. Memorial contributions may be mailed to St. Joseph’s Indian School 1301 N. Main St. Chamberlain, South Dakota 57325.
