ON Congress to meet for special session starting Jan. 27

The Fifth Osage Nation Congress will convene for its fifth special session starting Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. in the Congressional Chambers in Pawhuska.

Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear issued an executive proclamation calling for the special session on Jan. 12, which lists the following subject matters the Congress will consider:

– An amendment to the Nation’s revolving tax relief fund.

– An appropriation of the Project LAUNCH grant.

– A modification for the fiscal year 2017 Osage News operations budget.

– Appropriation of Osage Nation Foundation Museum grant.

Special sessions may last up to 10 days or extended by three days at the written request of two-thirds of the Congress, according to the Osage Constitution.
