The Osage Nation Fitness Centers recently installed new fitness equipment that has clientele praising the purchases.

“They are awesome, I love how they are interactive,” said Amy Fields, after working out on one of the new treadmills and Facebooking at the same time at the Pawhuska fitness center.

“They are fantastic, the best treadmills I have ever ran on, they are so smooth,” said Elaine Hight, ON employee.

The recently installed machines include recumbent cycles, treadmills, elliptical machines, ascent trainers and climbmill machines. All have Wi-Fi and interactive screens.  The screens are LCD and touch screen so those working out can listen to music, Facebook or watch television. The interactive screens also have various scenes for those who want to walk on a trail or along the beach. The equipment also has fans that blow on the person to cool them down.

“The equipment is state-of-the-art and will be a great asset to the fitness center and the patrons who work out there,” said John Leland, fitness instructor.

There are new machines for weightlifting, including a leg extension machine, chest press, incline press, seated tricep press down, leg curl machine; most are handicap accessible.

For those who want to keep up their summertime tan, two new upright tanning beds were installed and a flatbed tanning bed was also installed.

Contact the fitness center for more information at (918) 287-1097. Fitness center hours are from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
