Pat Wilson, a beloved longtime resident of Danville, California, passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Ponca City, Oklahoma and raised in Seattle, Washington, Pat attended the University of Washington and later earned his teaching credential at Cal State Hayward.
Pat dedicated 34 years of his life to teaching in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, where he was cherished by students and parents alike. His passion for education and sports left a lasting impact on many young lives. Pat served as a P.E. teacher and after-school coach, sharing his love for sports with his students.
A true sports enthusiast, Pat was an ardent fan of the SF Giants, and he closely followed the 49ers and Warriors. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed games of all kinds, especially his regular poker nights and the daily newspaper puzzles. He was a regular at Club Sport of San Ramon where he will be missed by the guys for his daily quizzes.
Pat was deeply involved in his community. He was particularly devoted to the Discovery Counseling Center of Danville, where he served on the board of directors and as past president. He was also active in the San Ramon Valley branch of SIR and took great pride in his Osage tribal heritage.
Pat is survived by his daughter, Pam Wilson; his sister, Ann Nikula; his nephews, Anthony Nikula (and his wife Caitlyn and their son Nash) and Michael Nikula. He will also be fondly remembered by the Koby family, who cherished him as a friend, father, and grandfather.
A Celebration of Life was held at the Greenbrook Racquet and Swim Club in Danville, Calif., on Saturday, August 17, from 1-3 p.m.
