Robin Dale Maker Obituary

Robin Dale Maker, 61 years, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Robin was born in Hawthorne, California on August 2, 1955 to Harry Leslie and Patricia Louise (Stone) Maker. Robin was a member of the Osage Nation. His Osage name was “Tah-E-Ne-Ka-Shin-Ka which means “Little Male Deer”. He attended elementary school in Hominy and Mound Valley in Osage County, Oklahoma and went to high school in Oakland, California.

Robin lived in Oakland and Berkeley, California for most of his life, though the last 10 years were spent in Tulsa. He was a very charitable and giving person. He worked as a caregiver and also helped the homeless, especially when he lived in California. He was a traveler and made friends, and helped people across the country. He was also a collector and loved all things, primarily antiques. He was a wonderful, kind person; who lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by his family.

Robin is survived by: his mother, Patricia Maker of Tulsa, OK; his brother, Charles Maker of Occidental, CA; his nephew, Erick Maker of Tulsa, OK and many cousins.

Robin is preceded in death by: his father, Harry Maker; his paternal grandparents, Ross and Marie Maker; and his maternal grandparents, Granville and Dora Stone.

The funeral service was held on September 5th, 2016 at the Friends Church in Hominy, Oklahoma with the Pastors Wayne Brown and David Nagle officiating. Pallbearers were: Charles Maker, Erick Maker, Raymond Lasley, Larry Maker, John Maker, Everett Waller, Isaiah Lasley and Lance Goodfox. Burial followed the services at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy.
