Sky-Eagle Collection will make its second appearance at the Break Free New York Fashion Week show on Feb. 8.
According to a press release, Sky-Eagle Collection will be the first Native and veteran-owned fashion house to be listed on the CFDA Fashion Calendar for benefit shows. The fashion house will grace the NYFW runway with a new collection, the Red Line, along with other pieces. The show is slated to start at 6 p.m. EST at the Judson Memorial Church in New York City.
“This collection honors the power of resilience and community,” said Dante Biss-Grayson, Fashion Designer of Sky-Eagle Collection in the release. “Being featured on the CFDA Fashion Calendar as a Charity Event is an incredible milestone. It’s an honor to share this platform with Break Free, a cause that aligns deeply with the values of Native communities striving for healing and recovery.”

According to the Break Free NYFW website, its runway show is leading the discussion on mental health, substance use disorders and other issues within the fashion industry and beyond.
Grayson created the collection based on his drive to complete his goals.
“I’ve been kind of throwing that around in my mind and my studio a little bit,” he said. “For me, the Red Line, and this is just me coming out of left field, but it’s like an engine. It’s like a high-performance engine, and when you push it to the limit, it’s the Red Line.”
He said that fashion inspires him to reach the “Red Line.”
“On the philosophy side of things in life, knowing where your limits are,” he said. “And then sometimes people exceed their limits, and then redefining your limits. So for me, for fashion, the red line is just that. It’s like people who know their limits and they’re trying to strive for their goals, and that’s that goal.”
Miss Universe Canada, Ashley Callingbull, will be the headline model. Other models will include former Osage Nation Princess and current Miss Indigenous OU Gigi Sieke, and Osage tribal member Madeline Goodfox. Sieke will model Osage wedding clothes and Goodfox will model buckskin clothing and perform a traditional Osage dance.
“It kind of feels like that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” Sieke said. “And it’s not every day that you’re able to say you walked in New York Fashion Week.”
Sieke is excited to represent her multiple platforms when she walks the stage at NYFW next month.
“By being Miss Indigenous OU and walking New York Fashion Week, I’m not only representing the University of Oklahoma, but I’m representing all Natives,” she said. “I’m able to show how I’m able to say that we are still here, we’re able to showcase that.”
Sieke is also grateful she is able to showcase her culture during one of the biggest fashion shows in the world.

“I think I am truly grateful that I have been picked,” she said. “Because I do get to go and represent the University of Oklahoma and all of my tribes, not just the Osage Nation, but Sac and Fox and Absentee Shawnee. I’m able to represent all my cultures and take pride in being from Oklahoma and showcasing my culture. I know a big part of Dante’s shows, one of the first things that we do is we showcase our traditional clothing.”
Biss-Grayson combines sovereignty, advocacy and culture into his designs.
“I feel like it’s me being an artist,” he said. “And it’s me externalizing how I feel or how I see the world. And these topics are huge for me. They’re impacting the ability of Native communities to grow and be healthy. So if there’s a small amount of help that I can provide, then fashion is a healing way.”
Grayson created the Sky-Eagle Collection in 2019. Sky-Eagle is a veteran, Native and family-owned fashion company. It has been mentioned in numerous publications and runway shows, and on multiple red carpets.
