Sophia Marie Lookout Obituary

Sophia Marie Lookout, 60, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at her home in Pawhuska.

Sophia was born March 2, 1957 in Pawhuska, the daughter of Randolph and Sophia (Hamilton) Lookout. A home health nurse, she was a member of the Osage Indian Baptist Church, where she enjoyed being involved in the Church activities and attending Falls Creek Camp. Sophia loved having movie night with her sisters, especially watching the movie “Cleopatra.” She also enjoyed shopping trips, going on vacations and watching “The Golden Girls” on TV. Sophia was also a member of the Native American Church.

Surviving her are two daughters, Debra Mellissa Guerrero and Sophia Flores; her son, Fred Myer; siblings Ira Ed Lookout, Martha Elizabeth Lookout, Vivian LaRue Oliver and Mildred Louise High; 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other family. Sophia was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Henrietta Lookout, Randolph Laverne Lookout, Deborah Lynn High and Virginia Irene High; and a nephew, Ira Hamilton Lookout.

Sophia will lie in state at the Indian Camp Chapel, Pawhuska. Traditional services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 8 a.m. at the Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Pastor Scott Kohnle will officiate. Interment will be in the AJ Powell Cemetery, Hominy, OK.
