Thank You, Osage Nation Courts

The Osage News accepts Letters to the Editor, 500 words or less. All letters must be respectful and informative to the reader and may be edited for grammar, clarity and space.

Dear Editor,

Please allow me to thank the Osage Court for supporting our family these last years.

In 2015, my husband and I became unexpected guardians of a great-grandson. We were not as young as many grandparents, so we arranged to serve as co-guardians with his other grandparents. The court dealt with the family issue professionally right from the first day.

It was very stressful, and thank goodness, we were not thrown into the State system.

As time went on, we returned to the court year after year. Finally, today, 2022, we were able to return our great-grandson safely and happily to the care of his mother. We are so proud of her recovery.

We know some families never see such a good outcome. But please don’t give up. Know it is possible to see a recovery and have a happy ending.

Thank you to Osage Nation for supporting the Osage Courts.

Forever grateful,

Kay Bills
