The Wahzhazhe Ballet will hold auditions April 6

The Wahzhazhe Ballet will hold auditions April 6 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Dance Maker Academy.

Auditions will be held at Dance Maker Academy at 400 Palmer Avenue in Pawhuska on April 6 for this year’s children’s cast of Wahzhazhe Ballet. The auditions will be for children ages 6-20. Nine Boys and nine girls will be chosen for the cast. Selections will partially be done by height because of costuming.

Dancers must be ages 6 to 20 years old to audition. Audition times are as follows:

10:00-10:45 Children up to 48”

10:45-11:15 Children 48”-60”

11:15-12:00 Children 61” and taller

The performance will be June 15 in Chase County, Kansas. Symphony in the Flint Hills is a non-profit dedicated to preserving the Tallgrass Prairie from Kansas to Oklahoma. The event will help raise money for their mission and give us an opportunity to tell our Osage story to approximately 7,000 audience members. Rehearsals will be May 28-31 and June 3-5 at Dancer Maker Academy in Pawhuska.

Show week will be June 10-15 and they will travel to Emporia, Kansas for rehearsals and then to Chase County for performance on the June 15.

Audition Requirements

Registration at the audition sites begins 30 minutes prior to the posted start time. Dancers will be notified by email of acceptance or non-acceptance within two weeks of each audition.

Video Audition

Dancers unable to attend the audition in person may send an online video link of their classwork or performance no longer than 10 minutes. Video auditions will be accepted via email at osageballet@gmail.com.
