Tristan Joseph Espinoza is the newest addition to the Osage News staff.
“We are excited to have Tristan join the Osage News as our intern. His unique experiences in embracing his Osage identity will resonate with so many Osages across the country,” said Shannon Shaw Duty, editor.
Espinoza is currently a student at Columbia University with plans to study abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science this fall.
During his time with the News, he will be working closely with the seasoned team of journalists, assisting in various aspects of reporting and writing. His perspective, combined with his academic prowess, will bring a fresh and valuable voice to the news organization.
“As a student of Columbia University, Espinoza has pursued a rigorous education, honing his intellectual abilities and expanding his knowledge across diverse disciplines. We firmly believe that his academic achievements will contribute profoundly to his work, offering new perspectives and insightful analysis,” Shaw Duty said.
Espinoza is currently the Creative Director for the Indigenous Peoples’ Initiative. His work has previously been published in the Columbia Daily Spectator. In his spare time, he plays for the Columbia University Rugby Football Club, likes to watch Survivor reruns, and posts film photos of his loved ones on Instagram @thetristane.
