The Wah-Zha-Zhe Health Center is certified again by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care after undergoing a site visit on its performance and practices.
As part of Osage Nation Health Services, the WZZHC is located on the government campus in Pawhuska and achieved its certification by the AAAHC for another three-year term, according to an Aug. 11 news release. Ambulatory health care organizations seeking AAAHC certification undergo an extensive self-assessment and onsite survey by AAAHC expert surveyors – physicians, nurses, and administrators – who are actively involved in ambulatory care.
Primary Care facilities that earn AAAHC certification demonstrate a dedication to high-quality patient health care and become part of an elite force of organizations that prioritize quality for their patients and staff, according to the release. The accreditation survey is peer-based and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.
AAAHC certification demonstrates the use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, ongoing performance improvement strategies, and an effective organizational infrastructure aimed at providing safe and effective care. The AAAHC survey team specifically praised Administration for their diligent program oversight and compliance efforts during the accreditation event.
In a statement, Kirk Shaw, Clinic Administrator, said, “The strength of our employees and staff members is what really made us shine and the team got us through this extremely rigorous process and deserve all of the credit, we couldn’t have done this without them!”
The WZZHC received its last AAAHC accreditation in 2019 and is listed among other accredited healthcare entities on the website for Chicago-area-based AAAHC, which offers resource information for those interested in achieving the accreditation status.
According to its website, the AAAHC follows the 1095 Strong philosophy, which refers to the 1,095 days of an accreditation term. 1095 Strong is described as “a call-to-action that equips ambulatory organizations with the best of what you need to operationalize quality practices. The 1095 Strong initiative centers on providing accreditation tools, resources, and relevant education to bring meaningful value to organizations and promote compliance with the standards, all 1,095 days of the accreditation term.”
